The Minority Caucus of the Young Democrats of America is the
official youth of color arm of the Democratic Party since 1932. Open to anyone under the age of 36 who affiliates with the
Democratic Party, YDA is a nationwide grassroots organization with 42 chartered states and 780 local chapters. The Minority
Caucus of the Young Democrats of America has founded 35 new state chapters in the last two years.
I'm glad that you're interested in supporting one of the most exciting and productive youth organizations within the Democratic
Party. Our organization has risen to become one of the most active and progressive political youth and young professional groups
throughout the nation, geared toward empowering and educating young people of color about the political process and getting them
involved in civic participation. We have partnered with progressive Democratic legislators and government officials, throughout
the country, to mobilize and educate communities of color to the importance of civic activism, and I am honored to have you join
with us in our movement.
Our mission is to promote the involvement of minorities in the political process and the activities of the Democratic Party at
the local, state, and national level. The Minority Caucus of the Young Democrats of America recognizes the need for inclusive
representation throughout the Democratic Party, and seeks to advance political participation among young people of color throughout
the country. The purpose of this organization shall be to advance the highest principles of the Democratic Party, as outlined
in the national platform of the Young Democrats of America, to foster and maintain truly democratic procedures in the Democratic
Party, to support Democratic candidates of integrity, ability, and conviction for public office and party positions, and to arouse
and animate participation by all Democrats in the conduct of their party.
Please take advantage of this unique website, which we hope will serve as a source of information and inspiration for all
young people of color. Please consider joining our group and let us work together to empower young people of color all over
the country.
